We all know Colleen Hover through her controversial book “It Ends with Us.” The Texas born writer is one of the most popular author in young adult fiction genre. She has sold more than 20 million copies and her novels are turning into big Hollywood movies. Colleen Hover made her writing debut in November 2011 with her novel “Slammed.” In addition to this she has written 19 more novels so far. VERITY – This is a romantic thriller about a woman named Verity Crawford, a renowned writer who is now bedridden due to an unfortunate car accident. Jeremy Crawford; Verity’s husband, is looking for an author who can ghostwrite and finish his wife’s unfinished book. That’s when Lowen Ashleigh comes into picture, a struggling author who accepts to ghostwrite for Verity.
But hey things aren’t as rosy as it seems. As Lowen gets familiar with Jeremy and Verity over time, she finds shocking family details that changes the course of her life. This is a classic romance thriller with a stunning plot twist. I was truly surprised when I read this novel and I’m eagerly looking forward to see this on big screen. Starring Dakota Johnson, Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett, this movie is set to release in October 2026.
IT ENDS WITH US – Lily Bloom comes from a broken and abusive family. One fine day after her fathers funeral she meets a neurosurgeon Ryle. Ryle is an ambitious guy and extremely charming on the outside. Over few meetings the couple fall for each other and later get married. However, over time Lily gets entangled in a whirlpool of domestic violence and abuse. Furthermore, she also finds horrifying details about her abusive husband which leads to more trauma in her life.
When this novel from Colleen Hover got adpated into movie I was truly fascinated. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in lead roles, that was enough for me. But sadly, when the movie came out it got stuck in controversies. Lively accused Baldoni and his production company for sexual harassment and Baldoni accused Lively for defamation. Somewhere down the line the film and the story got sidelined in this controversy. If you are not a bookworm then you can give this movie a watch.
REGRETTING YOU – Morgan Grant and her teenage daughter Clara are poles apart. Clara is the spontaneous girl who wants to challenge herself, whereas Morgan is predicable and extremely cautious of her daughter. The reason? Well Morgan married her high school sweetheart Chris and guess what? Got pregnant with Clara. So obviously Morgan doesn’t want Clara to repeat the same mistakes. But hey can we ever control our kids like this?
One fine day Chris is travelling with Clara’s aunt Jenny and they both die in a car accident. Something is fishy? Morgan and Clara’s lives are shattered after this incident and what further unfolds is a complex tale of family, love and betrayal.
Starring Mckenna Grace and Allison williams in the lead roles, Regretting You is Hoover’s third movie adaption. The film released on October 23, 2025 and it is getting mixed reviews.
