Universal Pictures recently launched the trailer of their new film “Michael” and I must say it looks phenomenal. Moreover the lead actor Jaafar Jackson is making headlines for his portrayal of King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, “Michael” is a story about the rise an fall of the iconic singer of the 20th century.
Who is Jaafar Jackson?
Jaafar Jackson (29) is the youngest son of the legendary singer Jermaine Jackson and he is the nephew of Michael Jackson. Furthermore growing up in a music industry Jaafar started his music career at the young age of 12! Yes you read that right. At the time when I was busy running around the blocks and playing games, this dude started his music career.
In 2019, Jaafar released his first single “Got me singing” and I found the song okay. Yes the kid is great at dancing and his voice is also good but the song was alright. Apart from this he has appeared in reality TV series, The Jackson: Next Generation, which follows the life of Jackson family. However, this film is Jaafar’s big ticket to stardom, I mean acting, singing and dancing all in one movie, is what an actors dream of.
Two years back Jaafar had shared the news that he is playing Michael Jackson. The singer said “I’m humbled and honored to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life, To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon,” He shared the big news by posting a black and white photo of himself in MJ’s iconic pose.
“Michael” release date?
According to the reports “Michael” is about to release on April 24, 2026. Previously the movie was schedule for a October 2025 release. However the production got delayed and film got postponed. Directed by Antoine Fuqua the film also stars Miles Teller, Colman Domingo and Nia Long in the lead roles. For now all I can say is that the trailer looks promising. And I cannot wait to revisit the King of Pop on big screen.
