When it comes to American sitcom, The Simpsons is hands down one the best animated show. The classic tale of a working class family in the misfit city of Springfield has been my source of entertainment since the 90’s. When animator Matt Groening first created this show, he had no idea that it will run for more than 35 years on T.V.
Currently The Simpsons has been extended for it’s 40th season, which means we’ll get to see this animated series at least till 2029. Now if you’ve seen this epic satire you are aware that the writers have predicted some crazy events. And not only that in fact without naming anyone, this show has revealed some of the darkest secrets. Whether it is Hollywood, Politics, Religion or world news this show has covered everything.

1.Donald Trump as U.S. President
In the episode Bart to the Future, the writers predicted Trump as U.S. President, 16 years before it happened.
2.Smartwatches
Years before Apple watch and smartwatch came to us, we got to see the characters in this show using watch- like devices to make calls. Now that’s some crazy forecast.
3.Video Calls and FaceTime
In the episode Lisa’s Wedding (1995) video calling looked identical to zoom calls and FaceTime today.
4.Autocorrect Fails
Today we all know the damage an autocorrect can make to an important e-mail and a message. Well the writers of this show did the exact in the 90’s; “Beat up Martin” autocorrecting from “Eat up Martha”

On March 20, 2019, Disney ended up buying Fox entertainment. But guess what, in the episode “When you dish upon a star” (1998), A Fox studio sign shows ‘A division of Walt Disney Co.’ Crazy right?

Blockchain, Crypto mining and the concept of digital money explained in 2000 in an episode called “Frinkcoin”
7.Pandameic and Global Virus
In one of the episode called ‘Marge in China’ (1993) a virus gets spreads worldwide via packages from Asia. Remember Covid?

People start hoarding things and there is a complete chaos everywhere. I still remember how hard things got when H1N1 virus hit the world.

In 2010, the show predicted Finnish economist winning Nobel Prize and he won in 2016.
12.Horse Meat Scandal
In 2013, it was reported that horse meat was mistakenly supplied as beef in the European nations. Well, the writers of the show predicted this in 1999, in one of their episode.

Today when gamers are immersing themselves in the world of virtual reality and escaping the real world. In an episode called ‘Friends and Family’ (2016), characters escape reality using VR headsets.

In an episode from 2005, the show revealed talking gadgets, similar to Siri!
15.Three-Eyed Fish (Environmental Mutation)
In 1990, the writers showcased a weird environmental mutation. And in 2011, a three eyed wolffish was caught near a nuclear power plant in Argentina!
